In this photo series, the artist expresses the suppression of male frustration by African culture that is birthed from the societal cloak of “strength” that stereo typically stems from toxic masculinity.
Vintage Class
Drawing references from classic cinema and soulful poetry, the artist aims to portray Mary (biblical mother of Jesus) as she might have existed in a contemporary world.
Deep Thoughts
The artist’s intention here was to portray a vulnerable and meditative mood which is reflected in the subject’s facial expression and the dreamy blue hues of the photograph which can only be captured during the blue hour of the day.
