Inspired by African mythology, science-fiction, and cultural astronomy, “In the vastness of space and the immensity of time” is an ongoing photography project that serves as a continuation of Yannis Davy Guibinga’s continued interest in the creation of fictional mythologies through creative image-making and photography. By taking inspiration from the creative process of his earlier works such as “Tales of the First Sunrise”, “In the vastness of space and the immensity of time” aims at serving as a visual representation of mythology mixing both modern and traditional elements from across West and Central Africa in a universe in which forms and colors are the most critical elements centering and framing the people existing in the images.
