Lagos is Burning

“Lagos is Burning 2022” was undeniably one of our favorite events of the art season. This event happened on the evening of November 6th. The celebration of creative expression, coinciding with the launch of The Dada Magazine for The Dada Gallery, was a vibrant salute to Africa’s cultural heritage.

Attendees donned elaborate regalia inspired by traditional masquerades, creating a kaleidoscope of colors, textures, and artistic expression that transformed the venue into a living work of art. With dramatic flair, frills, fringes, and a touch of theatrical magic, guests fully embraced the essence of masquerade performances.

A friendly competition crowned the best presentation, inspiring all to push creative boundaries. Beyond the glitz, it was a heartfelt celebration of Lagos’ thriving art and culture scene, uniting a diverse community in a night of artistic extravagance and the city’s unmistakable creative spirit coming to life in all its glory.

Conclusion

Art Season Lagos 2022 was a vibrant celebration of contemporary African creativity and expression. The events showcased the fusion of tradition and modernity, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Lagos and the continent as a whole. We look forward to continuing to be part of this dynamic cultural journey and witnessing the ever-evolving artistic landscape of Africa.
