THE AFROSURREAL EVERYDAY

At a Threshold - Fred Zucule

The paisley-faced guardians symbolize the intricacies of love in an age dominated by consumerism. The artist explores the interplay between love’s manifestation in both public and private spheres, prompting us to question: how do we confront the act of looking?

These guardians, with multiple bodies, reveal their bare forms, while their faces remain covered beneath paisley fabric. In their unity, they embody wholeness. The images delve into the spiritual, sensual, and political dimensions of the everyday quest for visibility.

It is Afrosurreal, it is dreamcore, it is erotic, it is tender
