Exhibition:

In the ongoing series Quantum Desires in the Presence of Water Where Butterflies Come To Rest, the piece Where Butterflies Come To Rest is a reflective journey into human consciousness, exploring what it means to “be” in a world punctuated by physical, intangible, and intermediary realities.

This installation, presented at the 2024 Lagos Poetry Festival, invites viewers into a multisensory experience. Here, images, sounds, and performances converge, drawing from the tangible (the finite body), the intangible (the infinite spirit), and the ephemeral space that binds these realms together. Through this three-part narrative, the installation challenges participants to meditate on the elemental essence of existence.

The performance interweaves storytelling, poetry, soundscapes, and visuals, forming a sensory tapestry that asks, “What is humanity’s core amidst the crescendo of civilization and technological evolution?” Through Prince Uhunoma Charles‘ visual narratives and Samuel Udoh’s dynamic performance, Where Butterflies Come To Rest becomes a dialogue between the self and the cosmos, encouraging reflections on the essence of being, the spaces of stillness we often overlook, and the uncharted territories of human consciousness.
